Arrested after Applying for Job

GEORGE COUNTY, Miss. — Usually when you apply for a job you either get hired or turned down. Jennifer Kurzyniec, 33, got arrested. She applied at a police station as a dispatcher in Tennessee, but when it came time to run a background check they discovered she was wanted for manslaughter in George County.

Back in 2011 Kurzyniec was the driving an 18-wheeler that struck and killed Julia Sumrall. Kurzyniec failed to show up for her arraignment on April 2012 where she was facing charges of DUI involving death and tampering with evidence.

Currently Kurzyniec is awaiting extradition back to George County. Once Kurzyniec is back in George County she will be charged and booked into the George County Regional Jail.  A judge will then determine bond amount during an initial court appearance.
