D’IBERVILLE, Miss. – At first it was a voluntary leave of absence; now Michael Janus no is longer city manager of D’iberville. The city council made his leave permanent with a unanimous vote Wednesday.
The FBI has now stepped in to investigate how the city secured a $3 million dollar BP grant administered by the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality after Janus met with a consultant firm from Pascagoula. Janus says he did nothing wrong, but now the city now has 30 days to return $1.4 million if the city can not provide additional documentation for the grant.
