COLUMBUS, Miss.–A high-speed chase in Columbus ended just like something off the TV show COPS. It happened Wednesday when Columbus Police tried to pull over 23-year-old Sammy Young, Jr. of Columbus, and he did not intend to be caught.
According to cops, Young ran several stop signs and would not pull over for them, eventually speeding up, the stopping, and finally jumping out of the car and running.
And, just like on COPS, officers had him pretty quickly.
The charges might shed some light on why he didn’t want to give up voluntarily-possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a stolen firearm, disobeying police, reckless driving, no insurance and several other charges related to not stopping for police.
