Memorial Day Gas Prices in Mississippi About the Same

JACKSON, Miss.–If you’re planning to travel by car for the Memorial Day weekend, you should know that gas prices are high, but essentially no higher than they were this time last week.

The national average is $3.67 per gallon of regular, but the Magnolia State average continues to be well below that, at $3.28.

The cheapest gas in the state is $3.06 at Sam’s Club in Southave, with the second cheapest tied at a Citgo in Horn Lake and a Raceway and Murphy’s in Jackson, all three at $3.12.

Gulfport can boast the most expensive gas at $3.59. Stations in Booneville, Amory, Ellisville and Lucedale, have similar prices, according to

Earlier this week, oild analyst Trilby Lundberg predicted a rise in prices, with reineries taking the blame and not the price of crude oil.
