MERIDIAN, Miss.–The Mississippi Young Professionals organization is holding its inaugural Rethink Mississippi conference today in Meridian.
People from all over the state will be starting the two-day event at noon today.
“It’s about how we can retain our talent that we currently have and recruit more talent, especially the under-50 crowd to Mississippi,” said chairmen of the MYP Fredie Carmichael.
It’s a self-described, laid back conference with the title: “No suits, No PowerPoints, No bull.”
At the event there will be some notable speakers too.
“We’ll have everybody from the the Governor [Phil Bryant], Hartley Peavey of Peavey Electronics, and Diana Valentine who is from Los Angeles,” said Carmichael.
The conference is being held at the Mississippi State University Riley Center and more information about the organization can be found at msyoungprofs.org.
