Rain to Move in By Tuesday South, Wednesday Rest of State

JACKSON, Miss.–Mississippi, you’re looking at getting pretty wet again this week. Rain was expected to move into south Mississippi by the evening hours Tuesday and into central and south Mississippi by Wednesday.

And it’s expected to stay all week.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Dan Byrd described the system that’s moving in from the south as a slow-moving system. He said there’s no severe weather expected, but the big threat will be heavy rain Wednesday and Wednesday evening, especially.

It’s expected to begin south by Tuesday afternoon.

“It could move into the I-20 corridor by Tuesday evening,” said Byrd.

It may be the weekend before most places in the state have a chance to dry out.
