Trial Date Set for Vicksburg Mayor on Bribery Charge
VICKSBURG, Miss. — Vicksburg Mayor Paul Winfield has been arraigned on a federal bribery charge. The 39-year-old Democrat pleaded not guilty.
FBI Investigators say Winfield accepted $7,000 in bribe money in exchange for granting a disaster contract with the city. He was arrested at his home in February and later freed on $10,000 unsecured bond.
Winfield is now set to go to trial June 3.
